With the aim of making the rural people feel that this program is their own and convincing them of its importance and getting them to participate spontaneously, Sant Gadgebaba Village Cleanliness Campaign, Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Swachh Gram Vishva is being implemented since year 1.<\/p>\n<p>Also, from the year 2002-03, an initiative was started to give special awards to Gram Panchayats at the taluka, district, division and state levels, who have done significant work in specific areas related to sanitation and rural development.
