In the administration of the former Jawhar Sansthan, Vikramagad was called Kudan. At that time, Kudan village acted as a defensive wall to stop the foreigners on the border. Thus, Vikramasaha Maharaj, the ruler of the Sansthan, came to this Kudan village and shifted the former Thane to Malwada, due to which Kudan village gained special importance.
On the birthday of the King of Jawhar, Yashwantrao Maharaj, on 10 December 1947, Kudan was renamed as Vikramagad in Palghar. Shri. Pantageshwar Mahadev Temple on the Pinjal River in Vikramagad is famous. Shri Nageshwar Temple from the Pandava period is famous as a Shiva temple. Palucha waterfall is famous near Jambhe village.
